The beast stalks its prey in the forest
Plunging from the trees above

Massacring all who enters its domain
Exhibiting its tyrannous prowess
Slaughtering trespassers and painting the dreary wood with their entrails as a warning to all

It feasts on the flesh of those who reject its name
Engorging, regurgitating, repeating til nothing is left

To face malevolence and live
Is to serve blindly or be consumed
To fully understand that hope is lost
And commit to endless worship

The enslaved survivors live on their days in sickening adoration to the dreaded beast
They all gather as it presents itself, kneeling at its feet
Presenting sacrifices, the unworthy torn and strewn across the forest floor
Bestowing unto its victims insurmountable despair

To face malevolence and live
Is to serve blindly and be consumed
To fully understand that hope is lost
And commit to endless worship

Bowing before an altar, offering their lives and souls to putrescence and blind devotion
The beast raises its head, accepting the offerings with contempt before dismembering the weak willed servants
It speaks: “I am divinity”

Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis. Metallurgical Fire
